Degree-level Group C - Paper I: General Knowledge

Maximum marks: 100   ·   Duration: 1½ hours

  • General Knowledge relating to current events.
  • General Sciences.
  • Geography.
  • Social Sciences.
  • Indian Society and its dynamics.
  • Indian History.
  • Indian Constitution and Public Administration.
  • Practical knowledge and mental ability at SSLC level.
  • Social and Cultural History of Karnataka.
  • Land reforms and social changes in Karnataka after Independence.
  • Karnataka Economy - strengths, weaknesses and current status.
  • Rural development, Panchayat Raj institutions and rural co-operatives in Karnataka.
  • Role of science and technology in the effective administration and development of Karnataka.
  • Environmental problems and development issues of Karnataka.

Paper II: Communication

Maximum marks: 100   ·   Duration: 2 hours

General Kannada / General English

The language component tests functional language ability such as grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and usage as prescribed for the recruitment.

Computer Knowledge

Preparation should cover basic computer awareness, common office applications, hardware/software concepts, internet usage and practical digital-literacy topics relevant to the notified syllabus.

Diploma / PUC / SSLC-level Group C - Paper I

  • General Knowledge relating to current events.
  • Matters of everyday observation.
  • Overview of the Indian Constitution.
  • Indian History with special reference to Karnataka.
  • Geography of India with special reference to Karnataka.
  • State and Regional Administration.
  • Economic development of Karnataka, including rural-development initiatives, Panchayat Raj institutions and rural co-operatives.
  • Environmental problems and development issues of Karnataka.

Paper II remains the communication paper covering General Kannada, General English and Computer Knowledge as prescribed in the relevant recruitment rules / notification.
